CASE STUDY: An AI Coach That Designs Your Workouts and Meals

We built a fitness platform where an AI coach plans workouts and meals from real history and device data, and where no change to the plan happens until a person approves it.

→ The Challenge

Most fitness apps record what already happened. The hard part, deciding what to do next, is left to the person, and the data it should rest on is spread across separate apps.

Pain Points

  • Tracking Without Planning: A log of past workouts does not say what to do next, so the plan is rebuilt by hand every few weeks.
  • Data Split Across Apps: Weight, sleep, training, and nutrition live in different places, and nobody sees them side by side.
  • Generic AI Plans: A chatbot can write a plan, but it does not know the equipment, the injuries, or last month’s numbers.

→ Our Solution

We built FitBuddy, a workout and meal platform that puts the plan, the log, and the progress data in one place, with an AI coach that proposes changes and a person who approves them.

We Built

  • Automatic Device Data: Weight arrives from a connected scale, and steps, sleep, and readiness from a wearable ring, through each vendor’s authorized connection. Nobody types those numbers in.
  • One Page for the Day: Each day’s exercises, meals, habits, and targets sit on a single page that is checked off as the day goes. Sets and reps are logged with weights pre-filled and plate math done, and every meal carries its macros and calories.
  • An AI Coach With an Approval Step: The coach reads the full history and standing notes on goals, injuries, and saved meals, then proposes changes to the plan. Each proposal is tested against the real plan before it is shown, and nothing changes until it is approved with one tap.
  • Progress Views and Outside Access: Charts cover weight, waist, nutrition, steps, sleep, and strength for each exercise, and four weeks can be compared side by side. The same plan can be read and changed from Claude.

Why We Built It

“Most fitness apps track what you did. I wanted one that also DESIGNS what I do next.”

100%

Of AI Plan Changes Approved Before They Apply

→ The coach cannot write to the plan. It can only propose, and a person applies each change.

2

Connected Devices Feeding One Record

→ A scale and a ring sync on their own, so the plan rests on measured numbers.

6

Progress Measures Charted

→ Weight, waist, nutrition, steps, sleep, and strength are tracked over time in one place.

4

Weeks Compared Side by Side

→ Four weeks of workouts and meals sit next to each other, so it is easy to see what changed.
