Every AI tool starts from nothing. Open a new chat and the person explains again who they are, what they are working on, and what was decided last month.
Pain Points
- Re-Explaining Every Session: Supplying the same background by hand at the start of every conversation is a cost paid over and over.
- A Profile That Goes Stale: A background file kept by hand falls behind, and nothing flags which parts are out of date.
- Memory Locked to One Vendor: Context built up inside one AI product does not travel, so switching tools means starting over.
→ Our Solution
We built PortableMe, a context platform that reads what a person writes, pulls out what lasts, and serves it to any AI tool through a standard interface. Think of it as a USB stick of context that plugs into any tool.
We Built
- Memory Extraction From Plain Writing: A background pipeline reads journal entries and quick notes, picks out the people, places, and projects mentioned, and proposes structured memories. It also keeps one summary of everything written about each person or project.
- Approval Before Anything Is Stored: Nothing enters the profile on its own. Every proposed memory is accepted or dismissed by the person, so the record stays accurate and does not fill up with a model’s guesses.
- Freshness Tracking: The platform flags the sections that have gone out of date, so an AI tool never reads old information as current. A weekly digest recaps what changed.
- Portable, Read-Only Access: The profile is exposed over the Model Context Protocol through one secure link. Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT can read it and cannot change it. A separate service connection feeds the same profile to our LifeOS application.
