What the BLEEP Do We Know?

Two people, attendees at my seminars in the past two weeks, affected me in ways Ill remember for a long time. They were Mark in Milwaukee and Glory in Orange County .

Mark, as I learned during the event, had been diagnosed with cancer. Notice I did not say he has cancer. We have to be very careful with words because they have great power.

During my seminar, I told Mark that I had almost died three times and that my positive attitude had much to do with my survival. I also stated that I would be glad to speak with him by phone at any time he needed an emotional shot in the arm.

Mark left me a phone message later that day, expressing his appreciation for my support and stating the following: Ive been struggling with this.I called him right back and, since he was not available, I left him a strongly-worded message.

I said, No, youre not struggling with this. You have taken command of this and you are winning the battle!I didnt want his mind to see a picture of a difficult fight. I wanted his mind to see a victory, to see him overcoming his opponent the cancer.

It was eight days later when I got my next phone message from Mark. He was exuberant as he declared that blood tests had shown that he had made remarkable improvement the week after we met. YES!! Thats the amazing power of the mind! I called him back and left the following message: You are the general of your army and you are routing your opponent! The victory is yours!

It was during that eight day period that I conducted another seminar, this one in Orange County . Thats where Glory, an attendee, spoke with me after the event and mentioned a movie that she recommended I see. It was called What the BLEEP Do We Know!?She felt that it really tied into my philosophy of controlling and directing our thoughts.

This movie was not being shown in most neighborhood theatres. In searching the Internet, I found that it was playing at a nearby arttheatre. Those are the screens where unique foreign films or films with limited releases are shown.

Thus, since Glory mentioned the movie again when we spoke by phone after the seminar, I took the time on that Saturday afternoon to see it. Arriving just in time for the 4 p.m. showing, I figured there would be a small crowd. To my great astonishment, there was a full house of people who had come to watch this movie. Apparently thats happening across the country.

I was absolutely amazed with this film and, like Glory, recommend it very highly. This is a movie about how the mind works. According to its web site, it combines quantum physics, multi-dimensional visual effects and animation, a dramatic story and interviews with leading scientists and mystics.

What the Bleephas won awards in film festivals throughout the United States. It stars Marlee Matlin. She won the Academy Award in 1987, and worldwide critical acclaim, for her film debut in Children of a Lesser God.

You can find more details on the web site: Whatthebleep.com. For the moment, Ill share two profound messages I took away from this moving experience.

Message One: Have you ever stopped to see yourself through the eyes of the ultimate observer? Marlees character is challenged to look at her life, and at her daily actions, as if she were two people: one walking through the paces and the other simply observing.

If each of us could actually step back and watch what we do on a regular basis, would we notice the mental roadblocks so many of us set up in our own way? Would we notice missed opportunities to learn and to grow? Would we see that certain addictions, either mental or physical, begin as small habits and can grow into giant hurdles?

If you were an observer of your life, what would you change? Write down what you would change and take some action in that direction TODAY!

Message Two: The only way that I can be great is not by what I do to my body but by what I do to my mind. Many people exercise their bodies and low-carb diets are the current rage. But the order of what is truly beneficial is backwards.

Its the diet that is fed to the mind that is ultimately the most beneficial when it comes to a long, peaceful, loving, and successful life. We see many people who push themselves incessantly to exercise and stay in good shape. However, many of those same people push themselves mentally in a life that is full of stress.

According to this movie, the cells in our bodies die from emotional abuse. That is so important that I will repeat it. The cells in our bodies die from emotional abuse. Thus, emotional abuse over time causes the cells in our bodies to deteriorate. Weak cells cannot respond properly, even to the healthiest foods.

It all boils down to how we think. Positive emotional inputs, combined with productive daily actions, can build strong cells that can help us live a long, happy, healthy, peaceful life. I encourage you to find the What the Bleepmovie and see if you need to re-script the emotional films that youre currently playing in your mind.

An Affirmation of the Mind
